Every year on World Osteoporosis Day, we’re reminded of a staggering reality: osteoporosis affects over 200 million people worldwide — most of them women. Yet despite its enormous human and economic toll, osteoporosis has remained one of the most underdiagnosed, undertreated, and under-innovated conditions in medicine.

For decades, investment and innovation in women’s health lagged far behind other areas of healthcare. The result is a persistent gap in awareness, diagnosis, and treatment—particularly when it comes to bone and muscle health. This is especially troubling because the consequences of inaction are severe: fragility fractures, loss of independence, and even premature death.

At Osteoboost Health, we are passionate about changing that. As CEO, I’m deeply committed to advancing innovation in women’s musculoskeletal health — to bring forward science-backed, accessible solutions that strengthen bones and muscles, help women stay active longer, and meaningfully reduce fall and fracture risk. Our mission is rooted in the belief that improving women’s bone and muscle health is not a niche goal, it’s central to extending healthy lifespan and independence.

The encouraging news is that momentum is building. The attention to women’s health, driven in particular by female entrepreneurs and investors and the powerful advocacy by the patients themselves, is changing the conversation. A generation of women who demanded equal opportunity in the workplace are now demanding modern healthcare solutions that meet their needs.

A new wave of science, technology, and investment is beginning to close the long-standing innovation gap in women’s health. From FDA-approved non-drug devices such as Osteoboost that improve bone strength, to digital platforms and AI-powered screening tools that enable earlier detection, we are witnessing a long-overdue transformation in how we prevent, detect, and treat osteoporosis.

This World Osteoporosis Day, let’s turn awareness into action.

Let’s continue to highlight the urgent need for innovation in osteoporosis care, and ensure that women’s musculoskeletal health receives the sustained attention and investment it deserves. Because empowering women to stay strong isn’t just good medicine…it’s good for everyone.
